Getting colostrum into calves safer & easier I Mark Haywood, Antahi Innovations

Providing the missing link to getting colostrum into newborn calves, Urzula & Mark Haywood developed the Trusti bag to collect and store the vital nutrients and were a 2020 Fieldays Innovation Award winner.

“Fieldays gives you the social proof and kickstart. Our Australian, UK and Japanese distributors took us on and we had only sold one. The support and exposure is unreal,” explains Mark Haywood.

As one of this week’s Sarah’s Country’s Change Maker we break-down better & safer feeding of colostrum with Mark Haywood, co-founder of Antahi Innovations:

  • A 2015 study found 95% of farms found that calves were fed substandard colostrum and a low antibody concentration or high contamination level leading to the invention of the Trusti Tuber to do it in a kind, safer and easier way to administer the colostrum.

  • For long-term productive gains, the next step for calf health was the Trusti Bag that allows farmers to collect and test high-quality colostrum and freeze it for when you need it.

  • The Fieldays gave them the launchpad to meet progressive farmers looking for products to make their lives easier as well as global distributors.
